It seems like a long-time ago when we first approached the IAB with the idea to put on a conference for the affiliate marketing channel, so I’m excited that it is now just over one week away from fruition. The IAB team and the sponsors have been working incredibly hard to put together what I think is an excellent agenda with many large brands across the affiliate channel sharing their thoughts and experiences.
The whole premise of the event is to showcase the affiliate channel. It is a channel that I often think is misunderstood, poorly represented in the digital trade media and often tainted with a reputation that does not reflect its inhabitants. Yet it’s a channel which has grown consistently over more than 20 years, drives nearly £18bn of sales for brands and is often at the heart of digital innovation and progression.
With speakers from BT, Trinity Media, Tesco, PwC and Intu to name a few it promises to be a lively and informative conference. I myself am looking forward to Chairing the panel “Affiliate is a Board Issue” where we will explore with some major UK brands how affiliate marketing is integrated into their overall strategies and its reputation as a marketing channel at senior level within companies. This is likely to be an interesting and lively discussion.
The conference is next Wednesday 25th January at the British Museum and there are still some places left so do make sure you get along to this first of its kind event, and one I am sure that will be the foundation for much more to come.
