Dr. Martens has launched on affilinet!

affilinet are proud to announce the launch of Dr. Martens onto our network! You probably know Dr. Martens best for their footwear, but they also sell accessories, shoe care products and clothing.  Known as Dr. Martens, Doc Martens, Docs or DMs, the lingo is up to you but I tend to go with DMS!

Like all brands, there is a history to the birth of these global products. Instigated by Dr Klaus Martens who created the shoe after injuring his ankle, in 1952 R.Griggs group bought the rights to make the shoes in the UK, as sales started to boom. They added the trade mark yellow stitching and the first Dr Martens boots arrived in the UK in the 1960’s.

Worldwide sales of DMS shoes grew in early 2010’s and in 2012 it was the eighth fastest-growing British company. Over 100 million pairs of Dr Martens shoes have been sold from 1960 to 2010, and by 2010, the company offered 250 different models of footwear alone.

So where can DMS fit in with you audience?

The trendy and funky from Notting Hill and Camden are some obvious targets, but I sense some opportunities with the festival season coming up, with music and festival fans looking for wellies and t-shirts. There are lots more exciting products set to launch this year, coupled with an attractive 7% commission rate – so now is the time to sign up and start promoting .

Harry joined affilinet in September 2013 as a Key Accounts Manager, where he is responsible for overseeing programme activity and implementation of affiliate strategies for his key accounts across retail, charity and travel and also manages our lead generation programmes. Harry is also Director of the charity ‘African Passions’ based in Cape Town, a sports charity which looks to unlock opportunities for African communities, using sport as a catalyst to do so. Before working at affilinet Harry was a Business Development Executive at Affiliate Window.
