Jamie Pierre has recently joined our team as a Key Account Manager, managing clients including Thomas Cook . I decided to ask Jamie some questions- read more to find out about his new role, his thoughts on the industry in 2014 and more.
You recently joined affilinet- what do you think so far? Was it what you expected?
I’m really enjoying everything so far – the team have been extremely welcoming and supportive, you can hear and see the collective experience that you won’t always get elsewhere. It makes for a fun and focused environment.
With 3 years experience in the affiliate industry you join affilinet as a Key Account Manager, what does your role involve?
My role as Key Account Manager is to oversee the program activity whilst taking a proactive approach to optimisation and recruitment of new publishers. I’ve been predominantly on the publisher side of things so it’s great to be able to get another perspective on the performance marketing industry.
What do you think will be the key developments in the affiliate marketing industry this year?
I think one of the main developments this year, following on from last year, is the growth of m-commerce. There are still many advertisers out there without fully mobile-optimised websites and a strategy specific for their mobile audience. I’m sure as 2014 progresses we’ll see more mobile-friendly content and publishers who take advantage of this.
Working on the Thomas Cook Account- what are your top tips for Travel publisher who want to work with Thomas Cook?
Make lots of money! In all seriousness, Thomas Cook are one of the market-leaders and its vital that publishers can work dynamically with them to promote their offers. I believe with the flexibility of both affilinet’s technology and Thomas Cook’s commercial structure that there is success to be gained from publishers both big and small.
What was the last purchase you made online?
Whilst I’d love to say an all Inclusive week somewhere nice and warm, it was actually a Papa John’s pizza over the weekend!
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself that the team doesn’t know?
Not sure how interesting this is but I have broken both of my arms when I was younger, fortunately not at the same time!
And finally…how would you describe yourself in 3 words?
Honest, hardworking, detail-oriented
