Jean- Luc has recently joined affilinet as an Account Manager. I decided to find out about his previous experience, his new role and what has attracted him to work on the network side of the affiliate industry.
You recently joined affilinet, what do you think so far?
I’ve been here for just over a week, and I am really excited. Everyone in the office has been really friendly and helpful, and I have enjoyed familiarising myself with affilinet’s activities. The upcoming projects and plans for the future are very interesting and I am looking forward to getting stuck in.
Tell us a little about your previous experience?
Prior to joining affilinet I worked for an ad agency here in London that worked with online influencers, particularly bloggers. We leveraged their influence through a variety of engagement solutions on behalf of advertisers. Further back, I worked for HSBC in Canary Wharf; an interesting and fulfilling experience. But ultimately not as interesting as online marketing!
After working 2 years with online influencers, what attracted you to work on the network side of the affiliate industry?
I was attracted by the idea of being exposed to multiple advertisers within the industry. Each advertiser, depending on their product and strategy has unique aims and goals and it’s interesting to work on the different means by which they are achieved.
Tell me a bit about your new job role?
As an Account Manager my main responsibility is to ensure growth across my accounts, whilst also engaging with publishers to optimise traffic and conversions. I intend to contribute to extend affilinet’s activities with long-tail publishers, particularly bloggers as they become more influential in brand awareness and performance.
How would you describe yourself in 2 words?
Curious and focused.
What gadget could you not live without?
I’m tempted to say my smartphone; simply because I’m always using it. But I think I could live without it (only just!). What I really couldn’t live without is the office coffee machine.
Who is your celebrity look alike?
As I get older, I’m aiming for Christopher Walken. How am I doing?
