Getting to know Simon Robins, Operations Manager, Cellar Vie Wines.

What does your role at Cellar Vie Wines Involve?

As Operations Manager of a small to medium company my role is varied which does keep me on my toes. As well as supervising the Affiliate activity and other digital marketing I also manage the buying, logistics and category management. There is no typical day as a result but that is a good thing. I am not a fan of monotony!

What makes Cellar Vie Wines unique to other merchants in the market?

 We’re offering a genuine proposition. It can be very difficult to make customers aware that we don’t mark-up product prices to advertise a discount. Wine quality is very subjective, so this is not something we do. Tell someone that a wine is expensive and their perception of its intrinsic quality will rise. The best we can do is price all our lines at or very close to the best price available online and hope that the cream rises to the top!

What are you looking to achieve by launching an affiliate marketing program with affilinet?

 Customers are getting more and more savvy, never fear though the deals I am looking to promote through affilinet are going to be very good. We buy bin end stock that large wholesalers can’t shift for very good prices so the deal is real! This in turn will engender a greater degree of trust. Our excellent score on trustpilot is further indication of that I believe.

Can you give us a quick overview of your program to potential partners and the key reasons they should work with Cellar Vie Wines?

Firstly we are looking to attract customers. We have a great website and proposition, but just need to increase our consumer reach. Secondly we are looking for a sales channel where we can shift large volumes of very well priced wine quickly. The quicker we sell through the bin end parcels I have previously mentioned, the more often we can buy them. This in turns builds our reputation as a company that can solve overstock problems like this for the larger, less dynamic companies. This is where the affilinet publishers come in. The more you help us move stock the more we can buy. It’s a win win(e)!

Finally what was the last purchase you made online?

The last purchase I made online was on ASOS for some bargain shirts for work. Got to try to look the part.
