The Drum last week launched its search to crown the top names in the UK digital industry. And we’re delighted to say that our very own MD is on the nomination list. Congrats to Helen Southgate! Obviously we’d very much like to vote for her, but we also feel we should tell you why, so here we go.

1. The digital industry needs people who aren’t frightened to take risks and do things differently and that just about sums Helen up. Unafraid to ruffle feathers, Helen is a bold advocate for our industry, helping to showcase its value to the wider marketing world

2. Having worked in the industry for over 11 years, Helen has got the kind of smarts, insight and knowledge that comes from working both at a network and client-side. Plus she isn’t precious about this knowledge, she is happy to help out her counterparts at different networks, advertisers or affiliates

3. She chaired the IAB affiliate marketing council for a year, come on, we owe her! On a more serious note, during her time as Chair Helen sought to affect real change and promote our industry within the wider IAB

4. Because she still believes. Whilst a lot of people are musing that perhaps the industry has gone stagnant and there aren’t many growth opportunities, Helen stands firm that our industry can grow. And it will grow. We just need to be more strategic about how we ‘sell’ ourselves by using data driven insights to show how we understand the digital landscape better than any other discipline

5. And lastly (as if you needed any more reasons!) she is a Norwich FC fan. She ain’t seeing any other titles anytime soon, so go on have a heart…
