Steve recently joined affilinet as an intern after studying his BA/BSc (Hons) Digital Media and Marketing at Canterbury Christ Church University. I decided to sit down with Steve to find out what attracted him to the affiliate industry and what he hopes to learn from his internship at affilinet. Find out more below…
- You recently joined affilinet, what do you think so far?
I’m really enjoying it here! The office staff are very welcoming and have thoroughly supported me since I’ve started here. The environment of the office has really helped me comfortably adjust to day-to-day life here, with their being a fine balance between getting down to work and enjoying the company of your co-workers. There’s free breakfast too!
- What excited you the most about affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing excites me due to its simple, yet innovative concept. We drive traffic towards a variety of products from our programmes and group the commissions. Additionally, there are always frequent advances of new technologies of how to reach target audiences, demonstrating the ways that companies are willing to push borders to make the market remain highly competitive.
- Tell me about your previous experience?
Over the past few years I’ve had experience in doing voluntary work and working in retail. My most recent experience was for a catering agency, who work with many big football teams and arenas across London (including Wembley, Arsenal and West Ham). I was a concessions and hospitality assistant; I helped with serving and selling refreshments and snacks to the fans who attended events.
- Tell me a bit about your new job role as an internship?
I have joined the team as a Trainee (Account Executive). I work with one of our big clients, Sky. The role involves me supporting the Sky team with a variety of tasks, including building new campaigns for Connect, and help promote upcoming content to be released on a number of platforms.
- What are the key takeaways that you hope to gain from this internship?
I hope to enhance my overall knowledge of the marketing industry and gain more valuable technical skills that can help me with various creative and analytical projects in the long run. Furthermore, I hope to build great friendships with my fellow co-workers.
- Describe yourself in 3 words?
Calm, Mindful and Reliable
- Finally… what was the last purchase you made online?
